In a game against the Philadelphia Flyers on March 11, 1979, L.A. Kings defenseman Randy Hold racked up a record 67 penalty minutes from nine penalties, all of which came in the first period. His first penalty, a minor, came at 10:25 into the game. Then Holt took a double major and a misconduct for fighting with Flyers defenseman Frank Bathe at 14:58. The big one came soon after when Holt instigated a bench-clearing brawl and ended up getting a major and a misconduct. Holt sat out the rest of the game and was suspended for 3 more. He is also the only player to be given more penalty minutes than the actual length of the game.
